MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Yonhap news agency, the North Korean boat crossed the border, located in the Yellow Sea, turning back after the South fired five warning rounds.
Pyongyang does not recognize the maritime border, otherwise known as the Northern Limit Line (NLL), which was created by the US-led UN Command following the Korean war in 1950-1953, the media outlet reported.
The incident comes after North Korea reported a successful launch of a satellite atop a long-range rocket.
South and North Korea are still legally at war, as no peace treaty between them was signed after the Korean War of 1950-1953.
