MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian parliamentary speaker Valentina Matvienko said Tuesday that she would discuss international terrorism as well as the Middle East crisis with her Israeli counterpart Yuli Edelstein during an official visit to the country.
"I think that the deepening of cooperation between the parliaments of Russia and Israel on the fight against international terrorism and the settlement of the Middle East situation are at the top of priorities in our collaboration… During the visit, I will discuss these and other issues with my colleague, the speaker of the Israeli Knesset," Matvienko told RIA Novosti.
According to Matvienko, the sides could also enhance interparliamentary cooperation to improve the legal framework of bilateral economic ties between Russia and Israel.
