MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Times of Israel newspaper, the probe was initiated amid claims that the officer continued firing at the 16-year-old girl even after she stopped posing threat.
In late November, the girl and her 14-year-old cousin were caught on camera trying to attack people with scissors, the 16-year-old girl managed to stab a man. The policemen, whose name has not been revealed, shot and killed the 14-year-old and wounded the attacker.
The officer later claimed that he was concerned the attacker could be wearing explosives.
Israel has been facing a wave of violence since early September, with dozens of mutual attacks between Palestinians and Israelis.
