Moscow and Beijing are readying over a hundred joint humanitarian projects, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview to Chinese media ahead of his visit to China.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The prime minister expressed confidence there were many areas in which Russia and China could establish a productive dialogue.

“We are currently completing the preparation of a detailed plan of events, which includes over 100 joint projects,” Medvedev said, as quoted by the People's Daily newspaper.

According to the prime minister, the plan includes shooting films, television series and documentaries, as well as translation and publication of books and holding book exhibitions.

“There are great prospects for cooperation in the sphere of new media, which is the future of global mass media,” Medvedev added.

Medvedev is scheduled to go to China on Monday on a four-day official visit. As part of his visit, Medvedev will address the Second World Internet Conference with in Wuzhen on December 16. He will also meet with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang in Beijing.

China is the leading economic partner of Russia. Currently, the two countries are actively cooperating in a multitude of fields, most notably on energy, infrastructure, finance and defense. Beijing will host the opening ceremony of Russian and Chinese media years (2016-2017) this month.
