According to the Indian Ministry for External Affairs, the 5th Heart of Asia Ministerial Meeting on Afghanistan will be held on Wednesday.
The Heart of Asia conference will gather Afghanistan and its neighbors to discuss join cooperation on various regional processes and projects, particularly as they relate to Kabul.
Swaraj's visit comes shortly after talks between the National Security Advisers of India and Pakistan in Bangkok, four months after they were initially postponed. The sides primarily discussed terrorism and ways to counter it, the Jammu and Kashmir issue, along with a wide range of key bilateral issues.
India's Modi and his Pakistani counterpart, Nawaz Sharif, also had an unscheduled meeting at the UN climate conference in Paris last week.
India's relations with Pakistan have long been stained over a land struggle. The Jammu and Kashmir region has been disputed by India and Pakistan since the end of British rule in 1947. Following several armed conflicts, the two countries agreed to a ceasefire in 2003. Since then, both sides have repeatedly accused each other of violating the truce.
