Russia Ready to Team Up With Turkey Against Terrorism
ANKARA (Sputnik) Moscow is a major strategic partner for Ankara, former Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told RIA Novosti.

"Russia is a very important partner for us. Relations between Turkey and Russia have reached new quality and dimension. Visa regime cancellation, trade turnover growth to $30 billion, millions of Russian and Turkish citizens visiting our countries, multimillion investments, as well as major projects such as the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, make up our strategic partnership," Cavusoglu said.

However, according to Cavusoglu, Turkey and Russia have different views on such matters as the Ukrainian and Syrian crises.

According to the former foreign minister, it is necessary for the two countries to openly discuss all issues on the agenda to further strengthen the partnership.

Earlier in October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Turkey was a priority partner for Russia, adding that it was necessary to establish a cooperative relationship in the fight against terrorism.
