ANKARA (Sputnik) – On Saturday, two deadly explosions occurred near Ankara's railway station ahead of an anti-war protest against a surge in violence amid Turkey-Kurdish conflict, killing at least 95 people and injuring some 246.

He said that this was an attack on the stability and democracy in Turkey and its people.

“But this will not turn Turkey into a Syria,” he added.

“The investigation is continuing and I won’t release any details, but the main version [of the terrorist act] involves the IS. We are getting close to one name that will show association to the group. The terrorist act in Ankara was an attempt to influence the November 1 elections in order to cast a shadow on them,” Davutoglu said during an interview on Turkey’s NTV television.

Turkey launched a two-pronged military campaign against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and ISIL militants on its southern borders and in Syria over the summer in response to a surge in terrorist attacks.

No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the deadly bombings.
