The incidents come a day after the United States deployed six F-16 fighter jets to the southern Turkish base of Incirlik to conduct airstrikes against the Islamic State jihadist group in neighboring Syria.

The deployment came after Turkey agreed in July to make its domestic air bases available to the United States and coalition aircraft participating in the anti-IS operation.
