Security staff at Brussels Airport commenced a work-to-rule strike on Monday, protesting against unreliable doors, through which dozens of passengers manage to pass without tickets, the Belgian Le Soir newspaper reported.

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) The strike may last for several days, according to the daily. The administration of the airport has advised that passengers arrive at least three hours ahead of their scheduled departure time, as passenger screening may take longer than usual.

At least 50 incidents involving passengers bording planes without the required documents have been reported since the end of March, when automatic doors were installed in the control area for passengers flying to Schengen states, according to the newspaper.

In late July, two people without any documents whatsoever were discovered onboard a flight departing for Rome.
