At least six people have reportedly been killed and one more remains missing in a blast at a chemical plant in South Korea.

An explosion ripped through a chemical plant in the South Korean city of Ulsan, leaving at least six workers dead and one more missing, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

The blast took place at the Hanwha Chemical plant, where a storage drum containing toxic waste exploded on Friday morning.

Local fire officials have opened an investigation into the incident, and are trying to determine whether it was caused by negligence.
