MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Seven people, including two children, aged 2 and 10, came under fire at a neighbourhood picnic in West Philadelphia, ABC-owned channel 6 (WPVI-TV) reports.
The children were taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in critical condition on Saturday, the TV channel said, adding that the remaining victims were taken to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center but their condition is unknown.
An investigation is underway, but police have not released any information regarding the possible motives of the shooter, who was wielding a shotgun.
In a similar incident on Saturday, 10 people were shot at a block party in Detroit’s west side. One of them was killed, according to Detroit Free Press.
Detroit police were not releasing the identity of the person who was killed or any information regarding the possible reason behind the shooting.
