Eikii Nestor assured his Ukrainian colleague that Estonia was “standing by” Ukraine and was making every effort to keep the Ukrainian issue in the focus of international attention, Ukraine’s UNIAN news agency reported, citing sources in the Verkhovna Rada.
Saying that granting a visa-free regime to Ukraine was an “attainable reality”, Eiki Nestor reiterated Tallinn’s readiness to provide expert assistance and help streamline the work of the Ukrainian parliament.
Volodimir Groisman, for his part, expressed his genuine interest in emulating the “Estonian experience” and mentioned the so-called “E-parliament system” being introduced in Ukraine to render the legislature’s work more transparent and open to the public.
He also thanked the Estonian people for its support for Ukraine’s position on the international scene.
The sides pledged to expand cooperation between their countries’ parliaments.
