MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The attackers were armed with a rocket-propelled grenade launcher and other weapons, Afghan Deputy Interior Minister Mohammad Ayub Salangi said on his Twitter account. No other civilian or military casualties were reported.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying they chose the hotel because of its popularity with foreigners.
This is not the first time Taliban militants, who have declared war on the government of Afghanistan, attacked guesthouses. Less than two weeks ago, the Taliban carried out attack on a hotel in Kabul, killing 14 people, including foreigners.
