British Prime Minister David Cameron who heads the UK Conservative Party has come ahead of his main rival, Labour Party leader Ed Miliband, in the fourth round of live pre-election TV debates, according to a Guardian/ICM poll.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The survey revealed that Cameron received 44 percent viewer support during BBC's Question Time Leaders Election Special, while Miliband got 38 percent. Meanwhile leader of the Liberal Democrats Nick Clegg managed to secure only 19 percent during the Thursday televised debates.

According to the Guardian/ICM poll, 49 percent of Britons believe Cameron to be more decisive than Miliband and 46 percent say they think the prime minister would do better "in a crisis," compared to only 20 percent who believe the Labour leader to be more crisis-resistant.

Miliband told the BBC One audience that he did not believe it was "the right thing" to over-speculate on the future of the United Kingdom's EU membership, which is one of the key issues expected to influence the results of the May 7 elections.

Meanwhile, in January 2013, Cameron promised to hold a referendum on Britain's EU membership in 2017, if the ruling Conservative Party wins an outright majority in the May general election.
