A Mailman from Ruskin, Florida has been arrested by Capitol police after he landed on the lawn of a United States Capitol Building on a small helicopter.

The intent behind Doug Hughes' bizarre action was to draw media and public attention to the issue of campaign finance reform.

Hughes knew what was at stake before he went on his mission, but he needed someone to tell his story. So, he contacted a reporter from the Tampa Bay times, saying "No sane person would do what I'm doing." But, he said, someone needed to draw attention. His plan was to hijack the news cycle and address what he believes to be the corruption of democracy through money.

"I'm not promoting myself," He said, "I'm trying to direct millions of people to information, to a menu of organizations that are working together to fix Congress."

US Capitol Police have deployed a robot to inspect the small helicopter.
