NEW DELHI, January 7 (Sputnik) Pakistan has cited terror threats as the reason for its decision to restrict the Delhi-Lahore bus service to the village of Wagah, without the bus crossing into Pakistan.

Under the imposed restrictions, Delhi-Lahore bus passengers will need to board another bus to continue their journey to Lahore.

Similarly, those coming from Lahore to Delhi will have to disembark at the Wagah border in order to proceed with their journey in India.

The Delhi-Lahore bus service was started in 1999 by then Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as a symbolic gesture for both nations' adherence to the peaceful resolution of disputes.
