Objects resembling emergency slide and debris have been found in AirAsia rescue zone, AFP reports.

MOSCOW, December 30 (Sputnik) — Items resembling emergency slide have been found in AirAsia rescue zone, AFP reports.

Indonesian Transportation Ministry official has confirmed the aircraft searching for the missing jet have sighted red and white colored debris off Kalimantan coast, according to Reuters.

The resque operation for the lost passenger jet has been expanded off the coast of Indonesia today.

Indonesian TV has released footage of objects in the water, stating they might be parts of the missing aicraft.

It has been three days since the aircraft, with 162 passengers on board, had lost the contact with air traffic control over the Java Sea.

US Sends Destroyer to Help Find Missing AirAsia Plane
AirAsia’s Flight QZ8501, flying from Surabaya, Indonesia, to Singapore, was lost Sunday morning. The Airbus A320-200 was carrying 155 passengers, mostly Indonesians, and seven crew members.

The missing plane did not transmit any distress signals before disappearing from radar screens above the Java Sea.
