Indian PM Modi Calls on South Asian Nations to Unite in Terrorism Fight
NEW DELHI, December 29 (Sputnik) — The Indian Ministry of External Affairs summoned Pakistan's High Commissioner to protest a decision by the Pakistan High Court to free the suspected mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, sources told Sputnik on Monday.

According to a source in the Indian ministry, granting bail to Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi has drawn strong criticism, culminating in Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit's summon by Indian Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh.

Lakhvi, one of seven Pakistani nationals accused of planning and abetting a terror attack in Mumbai, was granted bail by Pakistan's anti-terror court on December 18.

Over the course of three days starting November 26, 2008, members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba Islamist group carried out a series of 12 shooting and bombing attacks in Mumbai, killing 166 people and wounding over 300.
