MOSCOW, November 16 (Sputnik) — Three soldiers and 34 militants have been killed in clashes northwest of Pakistan between Pakistani soldiers and militants, Xinhua reported Sunday.
The deadly clashes occurred in Datta Khel town of Pakistan's North Waziristan region where the Pakistani army soldiers were on a search operation. Four other army troops sustained injuries, according to Xinhua.
Citing reports by the Pakistani army's Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the news agency reported that among the rebels killed were foreign militants.
Pakistan's North Waziristan region is located near the border with Afghanistan. In summer, the Pakistani army launched a ground operation against the rebels in the region, which saw large numbers of people being displaced.
