Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council spokesperson Andriy Lysenko said that Russia had violated international law, because Ukraine didn't know the cargo content of humanitarian convoy.

KIEV, November 4 (RIA Novosti) — Sending another Russian humanitarian convoy to the southeast of Ukraine contradicts the agreements, as Kiev is unaware of the cargo contents, Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council spokesperson Andriy Lysenko said Tuesday.

"The Russian side, violating the international and interstate agreements and without informing the Ukrainian side, has transferred ten trucks of the so-called humanitarian cargo to Ukraine through Russia's Donetsk border crossing. Ukrainian intergovernmental group temporarily based at this checkpoint did not participate in the inspection of the cargo and has no information about its contents," Lysenko said at the press briefing.

Earlier on Tuesday, the sixth Russian humanitarian convoy of 20 trucks, which was divided into two groups, delivered more than 100 tons of aid to the war-torn cities of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine.

In April, Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation in the country's southeast, where independence supporters refused to accept the new government that was put in power following a coup in February.

The military actions brought about a severe humanitarian crisis in Donbas. The local residents were left without food, drinking water and electricity since the infrastructure was systematically destroyed in the ongoing fighting between the pro-Kiev forces and independence supporters.

Russia has been sending aid convoys to Donbas since August. They have delivered food, water, power generators, medication and warm clothes to help the residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions replenish their stocks ahead of the coming winter.
