MOSCOW, September 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russia intends to develop its “mutually beneficial” strategic relationships with China, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Saturday.

“Our collaboration with China is of strategic importance. We have great, brilliant political contacts, we have excellent economic relations. [China] is our strategic partner, and we are interested in expanding the volume of cooperation. We are not afraid of collaborating because we are confident that this is equal, friendly and mutually beneficial collaboration in all areas,” Medvedev said in an interview with the Russia-24 channel.

“We live in an era of globalization, when everyone invests in each other. And we are interested in attracting Chinese investors and investors [from other countries]. We will trade, we will be friends with China and all will be well,” the minister added.

In 2013, the total trade volume between the Russian Federation and People’s Republic of China amounted to nearly $90 billion, according to Russia’s Federal Customs Service.
