Canada’s Angela Whyte won the first heat of the women’s 100 meter hurdles at the world athletics championships in the Russian capital on Friday.

MOSCOW, August 16 (R-Sport) – Canada’s Angela Whyte won the first heat of the women’s 100 meter hurdles at the world athletics championships in the Russian capital on Friday.

Whyte took victory in 12.93 seconds, ahead of Italy’s Marzia Caravelli, Nadine Hildebrand of Germany and US hurdler Nia Ali, all of whom reach the semifinals automatically.

The first four in each of the five heats qualify for Saturday’s semifinals, as do the four fastest other runners across the heats.
