The St. Petersburg city authorities plan to sign agreements bringing in investment of around 100 billion rubles ($3.06 billion) during the International Economic Forum, the city's Governor Georgy Poltavchenko said on the opening day of the event.

ST. PETERSBURG, June 20 (RIA Novosti) - The St. Petersburg city authorities plan to sign agreements bringing in investment of around 100 billion rubles ($3.06 billion) during the International Economic Forum, the city's Governor Georgy Poltavchenko said on the opening day of the event.

A number of deals have been signed and more are to come, Poltavchenko said on Thursday.

“A number of agreements are still ahead,” he said. “We plan to attract about 100 billion rubles worth of investment during the forum.”

The international economic and business forum has been held annually in Russia since 1997. The event runs until June 22.
