MOSCOW, November 15 (R-Sport) – Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez will miss next Tuesday's Champions League clash against Spartak Moscow with a foot injury, the club said Thursday.
The Chilean international suffered the knock in Wednesday’s friendly against Serbia and was substituted on 21 minutes.
An examination confirmed that Sanchez sprained the exterior ligament on his right foot, and is out of action for a month.
"The forward will miss seven or eight matches of FC Barcelona," the club said on the official website.
Barcelona top Group G on nine points and can seal qualification with a win in Moscow, while Spartak desperately need a victory to retain any chances of advancing.
Barcelona scraped past Spartak 3-2 in their September opener on Camp Nou, when he came as a substitute in the second half and assisted Messi to score the decider.
Sanchez has played 15 matches and scored one goal for Barcelona.
