Kim Hyeonwoo of South Korea won wrestling gold in the men’s 66kg division Tuesday, beating Hungary’s Tamas Lorincz on points in the final.

Kim Hyeonwoo won 3-0 to take a 12th Olympic gold for his country.

"It doesn't feel real right now, but I feel very happy," Kim said. "There is a saying in Korea that my coach uses all the time: 'If you work hard the sky will know,'" he added.

"I worked hard and I think the sky recognized my efforts."

Lorincz couldn't contain his anguish.

"Of course, I am disappointed at the moment. It has been the big chance of my life to win an Olympic gold medal," he said.

"In the second round, I have to admit, he did a marvelous throw, which I could not withstand."

French defending Olympic champion Steeve Guenot beat Cuba's Pedro Isaac Mulens Herrera 3-0 in the bronze medal match.

Manuchar Tskhadaia, the 2011 world silver medalist from Georgia, won the second bronze medal in the category, beating Germany's Frank Staebler 3-1.
