France defender Laurent Koscielny has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal, the London club announced Tuesday.
The club did not specify the length of the contract.
Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger hailed the performance of the 26-year-old center-back, who joined Arsenal from French side Lorient in 2010.
"Laurent has been outstanding for us over the last two seasons,” Wenger said on the club website.
“When you consider that until 2009 he was playing in Ligue 2 in France and that he is now performing at the very top level in the Premier League and for his country, the development that he has shown has been absolutely exceptional.”
Koscielny said he was happy with the new deal.
"I'm delighted to have reached agreement with the club. I have had a fantastic time here and look forward to an exciting future with Arsenal." Koscielny said on the club website.
Koscielny has 85 appearances in his two seasons with Arsenal, scoring six goals.
He debuted for France last year in a friendly against the United States and has picked up three more caps since then.
