A late Bibras Natkho penalty rescued a 1-1 draw for Rubin against FC Kuban in the Russian Premier League on Saturday, keeping the Kazan side in the hunt for European qualification.
The Israeli midfielder scored on 84 minutes after left back Cristian Ansaldi was fouled in the penalty area.
Kuban's Brazilian-born Armenian striker Marcos Pizzelli had put the visitors ahead in spectacular style after 69 minutes, beating two defenders and smashing the ball into the left corner of the goal.
Rubin dominated the game but couldn't convert a host of chances, with Vladimir Dyadyun and Alexandr Ryazantsev the worst culprits. They had an injury-time winner from Roman Sharonov ruled out for offside.
Rubin in seventh stretched a winless streak to four games but remain just two points behind Anzhi Makhachkala, who occupy the last of three Europa League spots.
Kuban, meanwhile, saw their slim hopes of Europe vanish, back in eighth on 58 points, 11 behind Anzhi.
