Beijing Olympic gold winner and multiple world champion Yevgeniya Kanayeva has all but secured one of the two Russian berths for the individual rhythmic gymnastic competition at the London Games, the Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics said Saturday.
"I am 99 percent sure that Yevgeniya Kanayeva will go," federation president Irina Viner told RIA Novosti.
"All the rest girls have equal chances."
Viner said the final decision will be announced in July.
The other Olympic ticket contenders are world champions Dariya Kondakova and Dariya Dmitrieva, 17-year old European junior champion Aleksandra Merkulova and World Cup bronze holder Margarita Mamun.
All of them are representing Russia at the World Cup in Penza this weekend.
