First-half goals from Shota Bibilov and Andrei Karyaka sealed a 2-0 win for FC Volga against FC Rostov in the Russian Premier League on Saturday.

Bibilov put Volga ahead on 18 minutes, side footing into the corner after Ilya Maksimovich's long pass put the Russian clear through for his third goal in three games.

The second came on the half hour, with midfielder Karyaka converting a penalty after the former Dynamo Moscow man was shoved in the box by Rostov defender Valentin Filatov.

Volga jump ahead of relegation rivals Krylya Sovetov into 13th, moving to 37 points. The Samara side have 36 points and can retake 13th spot later Saturday at home to FC Krasnodar.

In the championship group, the top two are in action later Saturday with CSKA Moscow traveling to Dan Petrescu's FC Kuban and leaders Zenit playing Spartak Moscow.

On Friday, FC Tom Tomsk ended months at the foot of the table as their 2-0 win at Spartak Nalchik lifted the Siberians to 15th.

On Sunday, Amkar Perm face Terek Grozny, Rubin Kazan play Anzhi and Lokomotiv Moscow host city rivals Dynamo.
