Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has called for a second reshuffle to this season's calendar over safety concerns for holding the Grand Prix in Bahrain, Autosport.com reported on Tuesday.

The Bahrain Grand Prix was initially scheduled to open the season in early March, but the race was postponed due to mass public unrest in the country.

Last Friday, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) General Assembly session voted in favor of moving the Indian Grand Prix from October 30 to December 4 and allocating the October date for the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The decision drew a wave of criticism among the teams about their safety in Bahrain, and Ecclestone is now proposing shifting the Grand Prix to the end of the season.

"The way things are at the moment, we have no idea what is going to happen," Autosport.com quoted Ecclestone as saying. "Better that we move Bahrain to the end of the season and, if things are safe and well, then that is fine, we can go. If they are not, then we don't go and there are no problems."

Protests erupted in Bahrain in February with opposition members demanding democratic reforms in the mainly Shiite country, which has been ruled by a Sunni Muslim dynasty for more than 200 years. The authorities of the oil-rich country imposed a three-month curfew in March and deployed a Saudi-led contingent to help maintaining order.
