MOSCOW, November 28 (RIA Novosti) - Everton's Russian midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov has said the club's defenders must do more to stop opponents getting sight of goal.

Everton are in 14th place in the English Premier League, four points off the relegation zone, and face city rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

"We should play more attentively at the back," Bilyaletdinov told Russia's sports.ru website, adding that it was "too easy" for opponents to create chances. He also blamed the club's lengthy injury list for the situation

The 24-year-old also said that he wanted Guus Hiddink to stay on as Russia boss, despite the recent World Cup play-off defeat to Slovenia.

"No one is insured against unlucky games," he said. Guus is not a wizard -he is an excellent trainer. Just remember what success we achieved a year ago [at Euro 2008]."

"Under Hiddink the national team has risen to a new level, people have started to respect us. Personally, and I think this goes for all the guys, I would like Hiddink to stay on."

Russia's sports minister said on Tuesday that Hiddink would decide on his future with the national side before the end of the year
