MOSCOW, May 15 (RIA Novosti) - The chairman of the board of directors of Wimm-Bill Dann, Russia’s largest dairy company, said on Friday he expected the St. Petersburg forum to be an arena for discussing the financial crisis.

St. Petersburg International Economic Forum due on June 4-6 will gather world politicians and business leaders.

“I expect that the Russian business community and representatives of many major foreign companies will arrive and I want to hear the opinions of those who will attend about the economic situation,” David Yakobashvili said.

“This will show the temperature of the current situation: are we overcoming the crisis or are we still lost in it?” he said, adding that he also hoped that financing of the food industry would be improved due to the forum.

Yakobashvili said he also planned to attend the World Grain Forum, which will be held as part of the economic forum in St. Petersburg to discuss future global production in the light of food security issues.

“The importance of this forum for the grain sector is great as there are many problems that need to be solved, including the grain storage and transportation. Maybe these problems will not be solved at the forum, but it is most important to exchange views and find joint solutions,” he said.
