ROME, April 22 (RIA Novosti) - The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is becoming a key platform for discussions on Russia's economy and could compete with the Davos forum, the president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs said.

Commenting on the forum to be held on June 6-8 for the 12th time, Alexander Shokhin said it is time "when it is better to discuss Russian issues in Russia and not in, say, London," an apparent allusion to the Russia Investment Roadshow taking place in London.

The international forum to be supported and attended by the Russian president will host presidents, ministers, international business leaders, top media heads and chief editors.
