MOSCOW, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russian women finished Wednesday in top spot in the team event at the 2007 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship in Patras, Greece.
Wednesday was the last day for the team competition. From Thursday, members of the Russian team, consisting of 2004 Athens Olympic Champion Alina Kabayeva, Vera Sessina and Yevgeniya Kanayeva, will fight for medals in the individual competition.
The 2007 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship, running from September 16 to 23 at the National Sports Center of Patras, is also the qualifying tournament for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
