MOSCOW, September 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Dinara Safina and Nathalie Dechy from France clinched the Grand Slam trophy after winning the 2007 U.S. Open tournament in New York in the women's doubles.

The couple, which has been playing on different sides of the net recently, won the trophy by beating No. 5 seeds Chan Yung-Jan and Chuang Chia-Jung from Taiwan 6-4, 6-2 in the final match.

"I'm just really proud to share this with Dinara. It was good," Dechy said in an interview posted on Women Tennis Association (WTA) official Web site.

It was the second U.S. Open trophy in the women's doubles for Dechy, having also won the tournament together with another Russian tennis player, Vera Zvonaryova, last year.
