CHISINAU, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - Moldova, in Eastern Europe, is to celebrate grandmothers with the launch of Babushka's Day, which will be held on the last Saturday of September.
Like Mother's day and Father's day, which is celebrated in the west, Babushka day will give grandkids the chance to show their grandmothers how much they love and value them.
"It will be a unique opportunity to phone grandmothers, visit them, thank them, give gifts and do something nice for them," local authorities said.
Moldova already celebrates Parent's day, as well as its national wine on October 8 - National Wine Day - and its Roma people on April 8 - International Roma Day.
