Kamaz sales grow 31% to $1.5 billion in 1H07

MOSCOW, July 17 (RIA Novosti) - Kamaz, one of Russia's largest truck makers, increased sales 31.4% to 38 billion rubles ($1.5 billion) year-on-year in the first half of 2007, the company said in a statement Tuesday.

In the period under review, Kamaz sold 24,200 trucks, up 31% against the first six months of 2006 and 4.6 billion rubles ($180.6 million) worth of auto components, up 23.6% year-on-year. The company also provided almost 2 billion rubles ($78.5 million) worth of services.

Last year Kamaz, which is majority-owned by the government, increased sales 34% to 46,200 trucks.
