MOSCOW, August 11 (RIA Novosti) - More than 240 billion ($9 billion) will be invested to develop Russia's agricultural sector in 2007, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade said in a statement Friday.
"In 2007, investment for the development of the agricultural industrial complex are forecast at 240.3 billion rubles, including 78.4 billion from private organizations and 59.7 billion from the federal budget," the statement said.
The ministry also predicted a 1.5% year-on-year increase in the country's agricultural production in 2006.
