Russia's RAO UES net profit up 50% in 1H06 y-o-y to $456 mln

MOSCOW, August 4 (RIA Novosti) - United Energy System [RTS: EESR] said Friday its net profit calculated to Russian Accounting Standards rose 50% year-on-year in January-June 2006 to 12.3 billion rubles (about $456 million).

The Russian electricity monopoly said net profit was boosted by revenue from its stakes in other companies.
