MOSCOW, July 12 (RIA Novosti) - Total supply of foreign currency-denominated cash in Russia from individuals gained 20% in May month-on-month, reaching a peak of $7.6 billion, the country's Central Bank said Wednesday.

The figure includes foreign currency sold by individuals at money exchanges and cash desks, sent for conversion, and paid into to foreign currency accounts.

"A long decline in the U.S. dollar exchange rate against the ruble provoked unprecedented growth in the supply of foreign currency-denominated cash in May," the bank said in a statement.
