ULYANOVSK, July 11 (RIA Novosti) - UAZ [RTS: UAZA], an auto maker based in Ulyanovsk, launched Tuesday the assembly of Japan's Isuzu trucks.
UAZ, which is part of Severstal Avto auto maker and is located in the Volga region, will be producing medium-duty Isuzu NQR71P trucks with a carrying capacity of five metric tons. The vehicles will be adapted to Russian conditions.
"The sale of this model in Russia will start in September this year. By the end of 2006, Severstal Avto plans to roll out 508 Isuzu vehicles and in the next three years sales will reach 10,000 trucks," Severstal Avto said.
