Mixed doubles:

- Maria Kirilenko and Leander Paes (India) failed to advance to the semifinals, losing to sixth-seeded U.S. pair Martina Navratilova and Bob Bryan 3-6, 3-6

Girls' singles:

- Top-seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova advanced to the semifinals, defeating Tamira Paszek (Austria) 4-6, 6-2, 6-4

* Russia's national rugby team will play its next match in the European Nations Cup tournament with leader Romania. The match will kick off on Saturday in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk.
