YAKUTSK, January 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and his government Friday for the consensus reached on bilateral cooperation in the natural gas sphere.
"For the first time in many years we are moving on from grey non-transparent schemes that have nothing in common either with market relations or the interests of our states. For the first time we are adopting entirely transparent relations with equal rights, which will not only improve Russian-Ukrainian cooperation in the energy sphere, but will also help to stabilize energy markets in Europe, and increase the authority of our countries as reliable and predictable partners," he said.
