KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Regional Jet for local airlines is slated to go into series production by the end of 2007, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said Saturday.
"We hope production will begin by the end of 2007, if the project is financed and provided with components according to the plan," said Fradkov, who is on a visit to the Gagarin Aviation Production Association in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur in Russia's Far East.
Asked what needed to be done to develop Russian exports, Fradkov stressed: "It is essential to make superior products and assist export producers."
"An enterprise cannot do it alone. Civilian and military contracts are necessary," Fradkov said.
