MOSCOW, September 28 (RIA Novosti) - The projected net profit of CenterTelecom, Russia's major fixed communications operator, in 2005 would increase 18% on last year, a company official said Wednesday.

Commercial Director Sergei Pridantsev told journalists the revised forecast was 472 million rubles ($16.52 million), four times more than indicated in the previous forecast for 2005 ($3.92 million).

Pridantsev said the adjusted forecast envisioned CenterTelecom's total earnings in 2005 at 27,284 million rubles ($955.06 million), 9% more than in 2004.
