WASHINGTON, September 17 (RIA Novosti) - The strengthening of Russian-U.S. energy partnership is beneficial to the United States, Russian President Vladimir Putin told representatives of leading U.S. energy companies, ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil and Chevron, Friday. "Relations between your companies and Russian partners are growing," he said.
"This is, undoubtedly, beneficial not only to your business and your large outstanding companies but also to the U.S. economy, business and consumers of energy resources."
"An insignificant share of Russian energy carriers is supplied to the American market," he added.
Russia supplies 2.1% of oil and 0.3% of oil products consumed in the United States and first natural gas supplies began not long ago, Putin said adding that Russia had broad opportunities in this sphere.
