ST. PETERSBURG, September 13 (RIA Novosti) - Russian natural gas giant Gazprom will begin a geological survey of the Sakhalin shelf (Russia's Far East) in the near future, a company spokesman said Tuesday.
"Gazprom is involved in the geological survey of the southern and central Caspian shelf," Boris Nikitin said at the seventh international conference on oil and natural gas resources in the Arctic. "We also intend to begin projects on the Sakhalin shelf."
Nikitin also said that Gazprom's drilling plan was 520,000 meters by 2030.
