MOSCOW, September 9 (RIA Novosti, Maria Gusarova) - Solar activity is not expected to harm people this week because it is not facing the Earth and cannot lead to significant changes in the geomagnetic situation, a Russian scientist said.
Sergei Gaidash, director of the Geophysical Situation Forecasting Center with the Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere and Radiowave Propagation (IZMIRAN), said people could be affected by the sun if the solar activity continues next week to shift to the visible part of the sun.
The expert said solar activity had become apparent on the visible part of the sun on August 7, accompanied with the biggest sunburst in the last 10 years.
