MOSCOW, August 30 (RIA Novosti) - The World Cup soccer qualifying match between Russia and Liechtenstein on September 3 will begin with a minute of silence to mark the first anniversary of the Beslan terrorist attack.

The minute of silence will take place after the national anthems of the two countries have been performed. The players will wear black armbands to commemorate the tragedy.

On September 1, 2004 local residents, pupils, and parents of a school in Beslan, North Ossetia (a Russian republic in the North Caucasus) were held hostage by armed terrorists. On September 3, special forces stormed the building. A total of 330 hostages were killed, including 186 children, and 918 hostages survived.
