RIGA, August 29 (RIA Novosti) - Latvia's association defending Russian schools' rights will send a few schoolchildren to Brussels and Strasbourg in late September to draw the attention of European Union officials to their plight.

Gennady Kotov, a Riga legislator and member of the association, said it was not clear yet whom the schoolchildren would meet with. "The subject of the conversation is clear, though. The issue is that it is impossible to obtain education in the Russian language," he said.

The schoolchildren's visit to Brussels will be timed to coincide with the next session of the European Parliament.

Advocates of Russian schools' rights have already been to Brussels and Strasbourg at the invitation of European Parliamentarian Tatiana Zhdanok, also a member of the association.
